In view of the risk of liability for contaminants
The Parish Council is likely to opt for the
periodic supply of a supervised refuse lorry.
More details are awaited.
PLAY AREA
The Burnbake Trust have been keeping the play
area free from weeds and litter throughout the
summer. The Parish Council has decided to defer
the purchase of more bark until the spring.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
The next Parish Council meeting will be on 16
November when the Parish Business Plan and Budget
for 2006/2007 will be discussed. Please note that
the minutes of meetings are now available on our
web site www.barford.net. The minutes of the 14
September meeting will be posted on to the web
site soon.
LYCH GATE
Anyone wishing to have a name added to the brass
remembrance plaque inside the gate should contact
any Parish Councillor (see list of names and
contact numbers on the notice board).
DAIRY ROAD BUS SHELTER
The Burnbake Trust have repainted the Dairy Rd
bus shelter on behalf of the Parish Council.
RECYCLING
Whilst supporting recycling in principle the
Parish Council is concerned about the recycling
plans of the Alabare in Dairy Rd.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
The Raglan Housing Association have now agreed a
price for the site in Catherine Ford Rd in Dinton.
This is a major step forward. The Parish Council
now wishes to review details of the site plan,
house design and timetable following which public
meetings in Dinton and Barford will be held.
Residents of Barford have an equal right of
occupancy of houses on this site as residents of
Dinton.
ALLOTMENTS
The present lease expires in May 2006 and a new
lease will be negotiated with WCC. The Parish
Council has decided to increase allotment rents
by a modest amount. A single allotment will now
cost £10 per annum. To encourage new allotment
holders an allotment will be ploughed and the
first year's rent will be free of charge.
OFF ROAD USERS OF FOOTPATHS
The Parish Council is concerned about the claims
being made by Off Road Users Associations that
they have a historical legal right to use public
footpaths and is in contact with the Wilton
Estate, WCC and the Cranborne Chase AONB
organisation. Anyone with a recollection of paths
being closed or blocked to wheeled vehicles in
the past should contact Cllr. Mike Booth.
