SKIPS

Skips for the use of Barford residents were supplied to coincide with the village fete. The Parish Council will be reviewing the future provision of skips in the light of a decision on where liability falls in the event that contaminants are found in skips.

PLAY AREA

An order will be placed to top up the bark in the play area. The Burnbake Trust are being asked again to visit once a month to remove litter and weeds and thistles.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

At the meeting on 23 May the Chairman and Vice Chairman were re-elected. The next meeting will be held on 20 July in the Community Room in the school starting at 7pm. Please note that the minutes of meetings are now available on our web site www.barford.net

FISHING

Arrangements are in place for fishing upstream of the bridge opposite the entrance to Dairy Rd. The rules have been displayed. A 2-hour tuition session has been arranged for Wednesday 29 June at 6pm. Meet on the bridge. Tuition will be given by Mr Slader from the Salisbury Angling club. The tuition will be free of charge for participants.

LYCH GATE

Anyone wishing to have a name added to the brass remembrance plaque inside the gate should contact any Parish Councillor (see list of names and contact numbers on the notice board). There will be no dedication ceremony.

TRAFFIC PRIORITY SYSTEM

The traffic priority system outside the school will be made permanent during the school summer holidays. The road will be narrowed and the signage improved. Details are still awaited. I have been told that the road will be closed while the work is being done.

HOLM OAK IN MOUNT LANE

The owner has appealed against the decision to maintain the preservation order. The outcome is awaited.

DAIRY ROAD BUS SHELTER

The Parish Council wishes the shelter to be repainted without murals and have asked the youth workers who run the youth club to arrange this with the youngsters.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Raglan Housing continue to negotiate with the owners of the site in Catherine Ford Rd in Dinton and with the Wilton Estate about a possible development of the field above the Alabare in Barford. No details of the latter are yet available.

SHAFTESBURY ROAD

The question of signs warning of a concealed entrance to Heath Farm Park has been raised with the Integrated Transport Team. A response is awaited.
