PARISH COUNCIL
The next meeting takes place on Wednesday 14
January. We will be looking at progress on, inter
alia, the provision of affordable housing,
financing the lytch gate and the traffic
management scheme in West St.
WEB SITE
By logging on to the Parish Council web site you
can now read the latest Newsletter from the
Wilton Police. There is also an easily accessible
link to the Salisbury District Council web site
where progress on local planning applications can
be traced.
LYTCH GATE
The January edition of the Barford Bulletin
contained a photograph of the proposed design and
a progress report. This will be updated at the
next Parish Council meeting. Anyone wishing to
make a personal contribution to the cost should
contact me or any other Parish Councillor.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
We are working together with Dinton on this. 7
sites are currently being looked at. We do not
yet know whether a further Needs Survey will be
necessary in Barford. Further discussions are
planned with SDC and the Raglan Housing
Association.
PRIORITY TRAFFIC SCHEME IN WEST ST
My letter to WCC following the special Parish
Council meeting on 12 November was published in
the December Barford Bulletin. A copy of their
reply is on the notice board in the churchyard. A
further meeting is planned between WCC, the Head
teacher of the school and the Parish Council
Chairman on 13 January. It is understood that
those who raised written concerns about the
implementation of the temporary scheme have had a
reply from WCC.
WEST ST CEMETERY
A leak has forced us to turn off the water supply
to the tap in the cemetery. Arrangements have
been made to have it repaired.
PLAY AREA AND KICK ABOUT AREA
The Parish Council has appointed Marcus Hellyer (Paddock
Lea, West St) as their overseer of the play and
kick about area. Gates have been installed to the
kick-about area and gates to the play area will
be installed as soon as possible.
